HINSLEY GETS THE MODLITE WIN IN THEIR MANZANITA DEBUT

Tony Hinsley already knew his way to the winner's circle as the long time dwarf car driver had visited it last on May 7, 2005. This trip was something special as he goes down in history as the first winner in the division that was making its Manzanita Speedway debut.

Hinsley had the pole and although under pressure for the entire 15 laps he never faltered. Numerous yellow flags were waved which kept the field bunched, but he still managed to hold off Nick Escobedo and Cody Borders. Art Garcia crossed the line in fourth just ahead of Ty Warner who had earlier won the trophy dash. Rounding out the top ten were Clayton Echols, Tony Martin, Danny Torgerson, NIck Bruce and Brandon Echols.

Brandon Echols jumped out front at the green flag in the first heat and beat John Priest, Hinsley, Brad Hallin and Torgerson. The second heat went to Escobedo who had a front row berth for the start. He made it look easy in beating Borders, Warner, Artie Garcia and TJ Warner. The final heat had a two time dwarf car champion on the pole and Tony Martin played a game of get gone as he beat Clayton Echols, Art Garcia, Bruce and Travis Meulebroeck.

Torgerson, fresh from a win in the last dwarf car race at Manzy, took the win in the ten lap semi main. TJ Warner was second, Bryan Rorick third and Jim Chapp fourth. Fifth went to AJ Martin.
